The Article Processing Charge (APC) is a fee that authors or their funding bodies are required to pay only after the manuscript has gone through the full double-anonymized peer review process. The decision to accept the manuscript is made at the Editor(s)-in-Chief's full discretion based on the results of the peer review.

What Does the APC Cover?

Under the Open Access (OA) publishing model, all articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license, allowing for free and wide distribution. Unlike traditional subscription-based models, where production costs are covered by journal subscriptions, the APC helps to cover the costs of the following activities associated with the publication of each article:

  • Digital Tools: Software used to manage the manuscript submission, tracking, and peer review processes.
  • Typesetting, Formatting, and Layout: Professional design and formatting to ensure your article is polished and meets the journal's standards.
  • Online Hosting: Ensuring your article is hosted on the journal’s platform for global accessibility.
  • Indexing and Abstracting: Submission of content to numerous abstracting, indexing services, and academic directories to enhance visibility and discoverability.
  • Plagiarism Checks: Third-party software used to ensure the integrity and originality of the manuscript.
  • Editorial Support: Assistance throughout the manuscript process, including communication with authors and reviewers, manuscript tracking, and compliance with submission guidelines.
  • Promotional Activities: Metadata distribution, press releases, advertisements, web content, flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials to help publicize the journal and your article.
  • Open Access Availability: All published articles will be freely accessible and able to be shared and disseminated by authors without financial or access barriers.
  • English Language Editing: Professional line-by-line copy editing and proofreading services to ensure the manuscript meets high academic standards.
(Note: This service is only available for articles where the full APC has been paid; discounted or waived fees do not include this service.)

APC Payment Process

The APC payment is due only after your manuscript has been accepted for publication, following the peer review process. This ensures that authors are not required to make any financial commitment until the content has been validated and accepted by the Editor-in-Chief.
